How to set up a Webhook utilizing Zapier and Google Sheets
Proceeding with a setup of a Webhook will populate your customer check-in information in real time
The purpose of this tool is to assist with the extraction of your client data from the Jogogo platform and allows for a seamless integration with your third party mass mailer tool
Step 1: Setting up Zapier
1.1 Go to www.zapier.com
1.2 Create a free Zappier account
1.3 Create a "Zap"
1.4 Set Webhooks as the trigger
1.5 Select Catch Hook
1.6 Click Save and Continue
1.7 Skip the next page entitled: “Pick off a Child Key (optional)”. Proceed to click Continue
1.8 Now, the website has created a Webhooks for you
Don't click on “OK, I did this” yet
1.9 Copy the URL and proceed to Step 2 (Do not close your window)
Step 2: Setting up your Webhook link in the Jogogo platform
2.1 Log In to your Jogogo platform
2.2 Click on the Settings section from our website
2.3 In the bottom right corner, in the "Webhook links" section:
- Paste the Webhook URL from Zapier
- Then generate a secret
- Click on Save
Now your webhook is set with our platform! You can now proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Complete your Zapier set up
3.1 Go back inside Zapier and proceed to click on “OK, I did this”
3.2 Once you have completed step 3.1, a client will need to proceed to check-in utilizing the splash while the Zapier website is open to generate your first sample
3.3 As soon as someone performs a check-in utilizing your splash page in store, a new page will be prompted
3.4 Click on the Arrow to view the drop down menu options. This exposes the data we gather. Proceed to preserve this information because it will be utilized during the Google Sheet set up.
Each field will be used in the first row of the google sheet.
- user_language
- user_birthdate
- Etc...
Do not click on Continue yet, you must now proceed to set up your google sheet.
Step 4: Setting up your Google sheet.
The purpose of this step "you will need to associate it with Zapier later on, that's where all the data will go"
4.1 Now open your Google account, and from that account access your drive.
4.2 From your drive Create a new Google Sheets and name it something relevant
4.3 Now populate the first row with the data points we obtained at step 3.4
Each column should have a different title from the Sample list.
- user_language
- User_birthdate
You can now proceed to click Continue on the Zapier website ONLY after setting up the google sheet
Step 5: Setting up the action on Zapier
5.1 Select Google Sheets as your Action application (Please note that if it's not already present you need to select it with the drop down buttons)
5.2 Select Create Spreadsheet Row
5.3 Click Save and Continue
5.4 Connect your Google account and test it
5.5 Click Save and Continue
Step 6: Integrate the Google Spreadsheet
6.1 Select the spreadsheet created Step 4
6.2 Identify the tab from the spreadsheet where the data will be collected
6.3 Setup all field with the proper Sample field so they match (ie: user_langauage)
6.4 Click on Continue
6.5 You can now test your zap and make sure it created a row on the google doc
6.6 Activate your Zap for real time data collection.
